About this Workshop-Retreat
The workshop is suitable for the following:
  • Individuals seeking to extend their own artistic creativity and imagination in a therapeutic context.
  • Persons having undergone trauma at some stage (recently or the distant past) who seek a highly creative therapeutic process/experience as a means of gaining insight, healing and wholeness.
  • As an introduction for aspiring art therapists to BCAC's unique approach. 
  • Psychotherapists seeking to add art therapy to their repertoire as a powerful healing method.
  • Practicing art therapists. The unique range of strategies and techniques addressed in this course will enrich and extend their existing knowledge and skills in the context of creativity and aesthetics.
  • Educators in general, specifically art teachers. Methods explored will inform and enhance their effectiveness when working with all children, especially those having suffered trauma, anxiety, stress or depression arising from a wide range of causes and circumstances.
  • Corporate groups wishing to promote or improve in the areas of bonding, collaboration, teamwork and creative-imaginative initiative.​
Content
Both hands-on practical work and its theoretical foundations are
​introduced simultaneously.  
  • Rudolf Steiner’s color theory.
  • The expressive and communicative power of line, shape, form and colour.
  • The importance of ‘Object Relations’ psychology in the art therapeutic and creative processes.
  • Carl Jung: the importance of archetypes and myths in relation to creativity and therapy.
  • The relationship of aesthetics to psychological factors, creativity and healing.
  • Raja Yoga - Brahma Kumaris consciousness and meditation, contemplation, practice, and inspiration.
  • The value and relevance of the assessment and appraisal of art. The interpretation, illumination and elucidation of shapes, forms, symbols and other formal elements to access meaning, understanding, insight and healing in the context of art therapy.

About these two and a half hour evening workshops:
These fun, hands-on very practical workshops present an opportunity for individuals to explore their creativity and imagination through painting and drawing as a shared experience.

  • From Jl. Raya Ubud, head East towards the big white statue T-Junction and turn left onto Jl. Raya Andong.
  • Continue straight for 500m and you will pass the Pertamina (Petrol) station on LH side.
  • Further up you will see the sign for BCAC on the right hand side, next to Warung Kanza.
  • Our building will be located in an alley right behind Gangga Coffee.
